Desulfator Installation

Desulphator Installation

The unit can be installed either on the battery itself, the battery holder, or the chassis of the vehicle. It is strongly recommended that the surface area of the installation location is clean.Choose either one of these installation methods.

Keep the unit installed throughout the life span of the battery, when it finally expires, you can reuse the desulfator to maintain and maximize the life span of the next and subsequent batteries.

Installing the Infinitum Desulfator with a Battery Charger

desulfator installation with a charger When desulfating a battery with a battery charger, connect the Infinitum Desulfator in parallel with the charger, as in Figure 1, connected in the correct polarity.

Installing the Infinitum Desulfator on Multiple Batteries

Multiple Batteries in Serial

Figure 2
Figure 3

Both the images above are typical setups for golf carts or fork lift batteries, where six 6V or 8V batteries are linedup in serial to produce a total voltage of 36V and 48V respectively. The Infinitum Desuflator can be installed in parallel on more than one battery.

Figure 4

In Figure 4, we see how an Infinitum Desulfator is installed in parallel to a configuration of six 2V batteries in series often found in UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) batteries or solar and wind battery banks.

Figure 5

In Figure 5, the Infinitum Desulfators can be installed on individual batteries and charged together. In this setup, all four 12V batteries in series would be charged with a 48V charger in a parallel connection. Similarly, the desulfators will work just the same should there be more or fewer batteries in the serial setup, just as long as they are charged with a correlated volt rated charger.

Multiple Batteries in Parallel

Figure 6
Figure 7

In Figure 6, dedicated desulfators are installed on each battery for this batteries configured in parallel. While in Figure 7, the desulfators installed on a battery bank with batteries setup both in parallel and in series.

Note:

  • The length of each cable measures 10.5 inches (270mm) providing a span of 21 inches in both directions.
  • The combination of battery setups are virtually limitless, as long as the total voltage of multiple batteries matches the voltage of the desulfator. The rule of thumb being, the fewer batteries a desulfator reconditions the greater the efficacy.
  • Infinitum Desulfators are designed to work when the batteries are in a state of being charged. This unique shut-off feature initiates when the battery voltage drops to about 12.5V. This is to prevent unnecessary battery drainage, even though the power consumed is only 1W. So for any of these configurations above to work, they would need to be in a state of charge.
    • Both the 25R and 40R Infinitum Desulfator models are exactly the same as the 12V Infinitum Desulfator except that they have no shut off feature. It can therefore desulfate batteries from 6V to 12V.
    • Though our Desulfators have a unique feature where it desulfates batteries regardless of its Ah (Amp hour) level, the 40R Desulfator was designed to provide that added pulse level for batteries with a 70Ah level or more.
