What happens to your car battery during winter:
- The oil viscosity increases or thickens which increases the strain on the battery during cranking or when an engine is started.
- The battery’s Cold Cranking Amps (the ability of a battery to start an engine) is reduced during winter.
The best way to remedy that is to get a higher CCA (cold Cranking Amp) rated battery as well as to test your battery’s CCA level at your regular car repair shop to have your battery tested.
